Exchange Applications, the database marketing software company 
currently
I work for, is growing fast and is hiring.  I am currently working on
building up an Analytics Group in the R&D organization, focusing on
technologies like data mining, data visualization, and OLAP / ROLAP.

Some background:  Exchange Applications is located in Boston.  Current
head count: 90 and growing.  Founded in January 1995.  Venture backed
and currently profitable.  First version of the ValEX campaign
management software was released in mid 1996.  Our software helps
marketing organizations interact with their customers and manage those
increasingly complex relationships.  We're considered an industry 
leader
and Gartner Group recently referred to us as follows:  "Exchange
Applications has the hottest campaign manager in ValEX ..."  Web site:

1. Data Mining / Modeling Developer. Responsibilities:  Support
technical development efforts associated with integrating third party
data mining applications.  Develop model objects, interface API's, and
simple visualizations of model summary statistics.    Will have
significant role integrating third party data mining tools (e.g., SAS
Enterprise Miner) with ValEX campaign management software.
Requirements:  fluent in C++, knowledge of data mining technologies.
Data visualization experience a plus.  Should be more interested in
making the technology relevant to business users than developing new
technology.  
2. Multidimensional Database Expert.  Responsibilities: Support
technical development efforts associated with multidimensional 
databases
/ OLAP / ROLAP.   Will develop specifications for integrating ValEX
campaign management application with third party tools.  Will develop
applications on top of multidimensional data stores to support 
campaign
management and assessment.   Will provide strategic and technical
analysis of multidimensional database vendors.  Requirements: in depth
knowledge of multidimensional databases; experience developing
multidimensional database applications.    Experience with both OLAP 
and
ROLAP would be a plus. 
3. Data Visualization Developer.  Responsibilities:  Develop
visualization capabilities in ValEX campaign management application in
support of analysis and data mining functionality.    Will include 
both
development as well as integration of third party software products.
Requirements: 2 years experience in data visualization & graphical
interfaces, knowledge of C++, Win95 / WinNT programming experience.
Nice to have: experience with Java, understanding of statistics. 
4. Expert Statistician (with Development Experience).  
Responsibilities:
Develop statistical functionality for ValEX campaign management
applications.   Some possible areas for development include: extending
the existing database sampling functionality, automated experiment
design & multi-variable testing, and automated statistical assessment 
of
campaign results.   Will likely include strategic analysis of
third-party software and possible integration with best-of-breed
technology.   Requirements:  solid understanding of statistical
concepts, understanding of RDBMS functionality and SQL, some C++
programming experience.
