DM: PhD candidate looking for job advice

Greetings!

I'm working on my dissertation in Information Science. I've had coursework in data mining and am using it in my dissertation. I'd like to work as a corporate data miner/statistical analyst in the DFW area.

I've always worked in academia, and really have no idea how to answer "What's the minimum salary you'll accept?" I've not been "out there" before, and honestly, am a little intimdated.
